A young college student from Rhode Island has died suddenly and unexpectedly.
Paige Moreau was a 22-year-old architecture student at Roger Williams University and a native of Manville, Rhode Island. Moreau was a standout student, cheerleader, and community member who was pursuing a degree in architecture. She earned Dean’s List honors for multiple semesters (Spring 2023, Fall 2023, and Fall 2024) and received the Resident Assistant of the Year Award for her leadership and dedication. She served as a resident assistant, head resident assistant of Willow Hall in Fall 2024, and an orientation advisor, helping new students transition to college life.
Beyond academics, Moreau gained hands-on experience through an internship at Bisbano+ Associates Inc. in Providence, honing skills in AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, and Microsoft applications. She was also involved in extracurriculars, including cheerleading and track and field during her time at Lincoln High School (Class of 2022). Additionally, she worked at the MacColl YMCA, rising from camp counselor to camp coordinator.
Roger Williams College issued the following statement.
“The RWU community is heartbroken to announce the passing of Paige Moreau, a beloved member of the Class of 2026.
“Paige was in Florence, Italy, on a study abroad program when she experienced a medical emergency, which tragically resulted in her death on April 26. Paige was actively involved in the RWU campus community, making a lasting impact as an Architecture student, her role as an RA in the Housing Office, and her contributions as a Building Manager with SPLO. Her leadership, mentorship, and spirit touched the lives of many.
“Paige will be deeply missed. As we mourn this profound loss, we stand together sending messages of love and support to her friends and family. 
“
Those who knew Paige described her as a special and amazing young woman with an infectious personality and smile.
