WWE Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green has addressed the growing interest in a potential rematch with Penta, following his recent signing with WWE.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Green recalled their 2018 bout in Lucha Underground, where she, under the name Reklusa, faced off against Penta, then Pentagon Dark, in the main event of Season 4, Episode 18. The match, which aired on 10 October 2018, has since gained a cult following online.
“I did not realise that that would [gain traction],” Green admitted. “I mean, it got some traction when it first aired, but not the way it has now. Oh my goodness, it’s crazy to see how much steam it has picked up in the past couple of years.”
Green said she ran into Penta backstage after his WWE signing and joked about a potential sequel.
“We ran into each other in the hall in Toronto, and he was like, ‘You and me, rematch?’ I’m like, I don’t think so, pal. I think we’re good. We did our one match, and everyone loves it, let’s not.”
Reflecting on her time with Lucha Underground, Green spoke fondly of the experience:
“I was hired at the end of the season. I came in, I killed Sexy Starr off, and then I teamed up with Marty and me and Penta had this crazy match. That’s what dreams are made of.”
She also shared how positive the locker room reaction was, recalling a moment with John Morrison.
“I’ll never forget John Morrison being like, ‘Chelsea, I’ve never seen you wrestle like that, ever. I’ve already texted Matt and told him how incredible that was.’”
While fans continue to speculate on the possibility of the two recreating their Lucha Underground match in a WWE ring, Green remains firm that it was just a one-time affair.

It has been reported that there were numerous scrapped plans for Chelsea Green to be involved in WrestleMania 41. Some of the plans that were reportedly considered were for Green to serve as the host of the event, and also for her to issue an open challenge for her Women’s United States Title, with possible opponents being Alexa Bliss or Hall of Famer Nikki Bella.
