Patriots NFL Draft results 2025: New England picks DT Joshua Farmer in Round 5

The New England Patriots entered Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft with six selections in hand. Two of those have now been used to move back up into the fourth round and select Florida State defensive tackle Joshua Farmer at No. 137 overall.

The Patriots invested the 144th and 238th picks in the fifth and seventh rounds, respectively, to trade up with the Seattle Seahawks.

Farmer, 22, spent his entire four-year college career at Florida State. After redshirting during his 2021 true freshman season and serving as a rotational option in his second year in the program, he established himself as a starter as a junior and never looked back. Over his last two seasons, he started all 25 games he played in and registered a combined 9 sacks and 46 total quarterback pressures.

The 6-foot-3, 305-pounder also has extensive experience against the run. He left college as a two-time All-SEC selection, getting voted to the second team in 2023 and named an honorable mention in 2024.

Farmer took a 30 visit with the Patriots during the pre-draft process. Now, he has become the sixth player drafted by the team this year.

New England previously selected offensive tackle Will Campbell in the first round, followed by second-round pick RB TreVeyon Henderson and third-rounders WR Kyle Williams and C Jared Wilson. They added safety Craig Woodson early in Round 4.

The Patriots are next on the clock at No. 146 overall in the fifth round.
