AJ Styles Would Love The Chance To Wrestle One More Match In TNA

AJ Styles is open to the possibility of stepping back into a TNA ring one more time.

Styles spent nearly twelve years in TNA and he is one of the most highly decorated performers in the company’s 20+ year history. Some of his many accolades include winning three world titles, and he was the first Triple Crown and Grand Slam champion. Styles was part of the Fanatics panel at WWE World on Friday, where he was asked if he wanted to potentially wrestle in TNA one more time.

Styles expressed being open to the idea, noting that he’d love “at least” one more match there.

“I love [the WWE and TNA partnership]. I still have a couple of friends there, and I would love to have the opportunity to go back and wrestle at least one more match in TNA,” AJ Styles said.

Who would he pick as his opponent?

“Frankie Kazarian. 100 percent,” Styles said.

AJ Styles has been with WWE since 2016. His last match in TNA was a loss to Magnus (Nick Aldis) on the January 9, 2014 episode of Impact, where he lost a world title unification match.

AJ Styles’ departure from TNA was a point of contention for Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe recently opened up about his departure from TNA Wrestling during an interview with INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet. When asked about how his departure from TNA came about, Joe cited the way TNA handled AJ Styles’ contract and disregard for their talent as some of the reasons he left the company himself.

“Well, I left, so my contract was up, I think, at the end of a European tour. And at the time, it was tough. AJ had gone, I totally disagreed with that. I was livid about that because the situation was horseshit,” Samoa Joe said. “How they treated him was disgusting, especially because he was the hardest working guy. He was the guy that was married to me on the — when we did house shows, all these other guys there, they didn’t do house shows. No, it was me and AJ at the top, and that’s why we worked so much together.

“I know him like the back of my hand, because every single house show the main event was AJ Styles, Samoa Joe for TNA for five years. And yeah, that sat wrong with me.”

Samoa Joe also detailed a messy situation on an overseas tour as another reason for leaving. Check out Samoa Joe’s full statement here.
