After a busy week for the season 23 top 14 contestants on “American Idol,” from attending a star-studded Hollywood party to being mentored by music legend James Taylor, they were ready for the next round of competition, airing live on April 27, 2025.
The two-hour “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame” themed episode aired live from coast-to-coast and marked the first time viewers only ha the length of the show to cast their votes. Underwood showed up in ripped jeans and a red bandana in honor of Guns n’ Roses, whom she said she considers “the greatest band of all time with the greatest front man of all time.”
In the last moments of the show, host Ryan Seacrest will announce which two contestants are going home based on the night’s votes. Spoiler alert: full results are below.
Top 12 Live Results
As the contestants performed songs made famous by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, the judges were blown away, prompting Underwood to say she couldn’t be mad at America for whomever goes through to the top 12 at the end of the episode.

How to Vote for the ‘American Idol’ Top 12
Voting is open from the moment the episode starts at 8 p.m. Eastern time until about 9:50 p.m. Eastern time, per ABC. As in the previous week, viewers have three ways to vote and can cast up to 10 votes for each of their favorite singers on each platform — up to 30 votes per contestant.
The first two ways to vote are through ABC’s website and via the “American Idol” app, either via Apple for iPhones or via Google for Androids. The site and app require signing in — you can create a free account that works for both or use an existing MyDisney account.
