Summer in New York City is bringing excitement for some, and challenges for others.
Max unveiled the first trailer for the long-awaited third season of And Just Like That… on Tuesday, April 14, which shows love is certainly in the air with the weather warmed up. Cynthia Nixon’s Miranda Hobbes both appear to have their eyes on someone new, with Miranda admitting that she “really” likes a new woman who is a “work contact.”
Kristin Davis’ Charlotte York, on the other hand, is focusing on her daughter Lily’s (Cathy Ang) attraction to a male dancer. At one point, Charlotte even catches Lily passionately smooching the young gent.

Nicole Ari Parker’s Lisa Todd Wexley asks Charlotte if it’s okay for her to have “a work crush,” leading to an awkward conversation with her husband. Sarita Choudhury’s Seema Patel is also shown going on a series of dates with men she’s “not interested in,” even questioning if she wants to be “starting over.”
As for Sarah Jessica Parker’s leading lady Carrie Bradshaw, the famed writer turned podcaster — who is now working on penning a romantasy novel — is in a weird place with Aidan Shaw (John Corbett) following season 2’s finale. Aidan previously told Carrie he could no longer divide his time between NYC and Virginia in the aftermath of his son Wyatt’s serious accident, saying they needed to put their rekindled romance on hold for five years until his youngest son reached adulthood.
In the aftermath of that, Carrie now reveals in the season 3 first look that Aidan has sent a postcard that contained “nothing.” However, Miranda later notes that she “kinda caught a little vibe” between Carrie and her neighbor, leading Carrie to say, “It’s complicated with Aidan, but I’m trying to figure it out.”

The Sex and the City revival’s new trailer comes a year and a half after the August 2023 season 2 finale, which saw Kim Cattrall make her long-awaited debut appearance in the series as Samantha.
While Samantha was supposed to make it to Carrie’s “Last Supper” at her old apartment, her flight from London was delayed, so she missed the soirée — though she was able to bid farewell to what she called a “f—— fabulous, fabulous flat” on speakerphone with Carrie.

The appearance came after Cattrall said she was “never asked to be part of the reboot,” as she told Variety in 2022. “I made my feelings clear after the possible third movie, so I found out about it like everyone else did — on social media.”
Parker said on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast that her former costar had “made it clear that [the reboot] wasn’t something she wanted to pursue, and it no longer felt comfortable for us, and so it didn’t occur to us.”

Season 3 kicked off with a table read nearly a year ago, as Parker shared a photo of the scripts on Instagram in May 2024, writing, “Here. We. Go.”

Several new faces are joining the revival series for its upcoming installment, including Rosie O’Donnell, who teased that her character Mary will appear in the season 3 premiere episode in a May Instagram post, and Patti LuPone, whose role on the series remains unclear.
Rosemarie DeWitt is also set to reprise her role as Kathy, Aidan’s (John Corbett) ex-wife. Mehcad Brooks, Jonathan Cake, Mario Cantone, Niall Cunningham, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler, Christopher Jackson, Logan Marshall-Green, Sebastiano Pigazzi, Alexa Swinton and Dolly Wells also round out the season 3 cast.
Season 3 of And Just Like That… premieres May 29 on Max.
