ATP Munich Best Bets Including Zverev vs Griekspoor

ATP 500 Munich quarterfinals

Darderi – Shelton: 18.04.2025 Time TBA
H2H: first meeting

Luciano Darderi has won nine of his last ten matches. The young Italian is playing his best tennis and enjoys playing on clay. Last week in Marrakech, Darderi won the title, losing only one set throughout the tournament. This is his debut campaign in Munich. In the opening main draw round, Darderi defeated O’Connell in straight sets. Kecmanovic also had no answer for Darderi’s game in the 1/8-Finals. After losing the opening set 2-6, Kecmanovic turned the match around.

Ben Shelton has lost three of his last five matches. Shelton fought hard against Gojo this week in Munich, winning in three tight sets. He saved three match points and turned the match around. He had an easier job in the 1/8-Finals, winning against Van de Zandschulp in straight sets. Shelton lost his serve only once; other than that, the young American served well throughout the match.

Best Bets to Make

Main Bet

According to the bookies, Darderi is the slight favourite in this matchup, and we agree. He is one of the best clay-court players at the moment. Darderi thrives on slow courts, as in Munich. On the other hand, Shelton never had any success on European clay courts. We expect Darderi to dominate and win this match.

That being said, Darderi winning is a value bet.

Extra Bet

As previously mentioned, the surface in Munich is slow. That said, the serve will not play a big role here. We expect no tiebreaks in this match. Darderi is a solid returner, and we expect him to break Shelton’s serve in each set.

That being said, no tiebreaks in the match is a value bet.

Zverev – Griekspoor: 18.04.2025 Time TBA
H2H: 6-2

Alexander Zverev has won three of his last five matches. This week in Munich, Zverev had a favourable draw. In the opening round, he won against Muller in straight sets. Besides losing his serve once, Zverev served great throughout the match. Altmaier also had no answer for Zverev’s game. Zverev was a better player from the start until the end, winning in straight sets easily.

Tallon Griekspoor has won three of his last five matches. This week in Munich, Griekspoor won both matches in straight sets. In the opening match, the Dutch demolished Tien in straight sets. Hanfmann put up a big fight in the second round. Griekspoor trailed 0-2 in the opening set but quickly turned it around and won in straight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Griekspoor is the big underdog in this matchup, but we disagree. Zverev struggled with his form for the last couple of months. He especially underperformed on clay courts. On the other hand, Griekspoor played well in both matches this week in Munich, and we expect him to continue in that fashion. We believe Griekspoor will keep this match tight.

That being said, Griekspoor covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Tallon Griekspoor +3.5 games handicap @1.73 @bet365
