‘Happy Days’ main cast reunites at Steel City Con

This weekend made for some happy days in Monroeville.

Four main cast members of the popular 1970s show “Happy Days” — Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, Anson Williams and Don Most — had a reunion at Steel City Con in Monroeville.

The actors participated in a panel discussion about the series — a first in 50 years, according to Winkler. The convention shared video from the event on their social media.

“It feels like 50 minutes,” Howard said in the video. “It does. We’re having so much fun hanging, and this is sort of our great excuse to come together, so thank you.”

“Happy Days” followed the lives of a family living in the 1950s and ‘60s, focusing on teenager Richie Cunningham (Howard) and friends Potsie Weber (Williams), Ralph Malph (Most) and Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli (Winkler).

The show ran for 11 seasons on ABC from 1974 to 1984.

The cast received proclamations from the Allegheny County Council.

Cast members reminisced on what they said was an encouraging and supportive environment.

“The show evolved as, really, an ensemble,” said Howard, according to a report from People.com. “So that idea of we were like a family, well, OK, maybe not a family, but we were a unit, we were a community, and also, I think for us, it was kind of like our coming-of-age story. We were just growing up through this process.”

“It was a life experience that’s unlike anything else that I’ve ever known, and we had great chemistry. We had fun working together from the beginning, and it never failed us.”
