Though Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck split nine months ago, their blended family’s bond is forever. Ben recently hit the red carpet premiere of his film, The Accountant 2, with his kids, Fin and Violet, and J.Lo’s twins, Max and Emme, were also in attendance.
When he rekindled his romance with Jennifer in 2021, their children formed close bonds with each other and their step-parents. During the premiere, the actor gushed about his ex and his ongoing connection with her children.
“I don’t read the stuff online much, and sometimes, I get the sense that people perpetuate the idea of… they want to find something negative to talk about,” he told Entertainment Tonighton the red carpet.
He continued, “For the record, Jennifer Lopez is spectacular, great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them. I love her kids. They’re wonderful. She’s an enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to. I’m thrilled that the kids are here with me. The relationships that you can have with children like that — it’s the joy of my life. And those kids are amazing, and I’m glad that this is a movie they want to come to.”
Amid Bennifer’s split, insiders told Entertainment Tonight that the closeness of their blended family was a main concern for the former couple. “Jen and Ben want all their kids to be happy, regardless of the issues they are facing in their marriage,” the source said, adding that they were “trying to make this transition as easy as possible and be gentle on their children.”
In a recent interview with GQ, Ben got candid about the “root” of his divorce with the “On the Floor” singer.
“You’ve got to own what you knew going into any relationship. And I think it’s important to say that wasn’t the cause of some major fracture,” he said of their differences in handling fame. “There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue… There is no: ‘This is what happened.’ It’s just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do.”
