Country music star and Hall of Fame inductee Kenny Chesney is counting down to his historical 12-show run at Las Vegas’s Sphere. “I’m always looking for ways to deepen the way No Shoes Nation experiences this music,” the singer said of his decision to perform at the venue in a statement shared by Rolling Stone. He also explained that the sensory experience Sphere makes possible was a big draw, saying: “Just the idea of 4D technology and the impossibly dialed in sound raises the experience for No Shoes Nation, literally immersing them in music, visuals, sound and being together.”
On April 13, 2025, a little over a month before the first performance, Chesney took to Instagram with a video that gave fans a taste of what those visuals would look like. “I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’re working on,” Chesney says in the video. “It is just blowing my mind.”
This residency will be Chesney’s first Sphere experience but it’s also a first for the country music genre as a whole. Before Chesney, no other country artist has had a residency at this ever-popular Las Vegas landmark.
Chesney’s Time at Sphere Will Span Just Four Weeks
For fans who wanted to buy tickets to this unique Chesney concert experience, time was not on their side. As Rolling Stone noted, the singer’s residency starts May 22, 2025, and runs for just four weeks. The singer will put on three weekly shows during that limited timeframe, wrapping up his residency on June 14.
In early February, less than a month after Chesney first announced the residency, 92.5 XTU reported that the event was almost sold out. “You never know when you do something outside the box if people will follow you,” Chesney said of the overwhelming response from fans. He added that he hoped those who truly loved his music would share his enthusiasm for Sphere’s immersive experience.
When it Comes to Vegas Residencies, the Singer has Big Shoes to Fill
Chesney is known for his epic live performances, but several other country shows have put on larger-than-life shows for their Las Vegas residencies over the last few years. In latCaesar’sCaesar’s Entertainment reported that Miranda Lambert extended her Zappos Theater res”dency, “Velve” Rodeo,” through the end of 2023 due to an overwhelmingly positive response from fans. The singer put on incredibly theatrical shows featuring all of her best hits.
More recently, Carrie Underwood wrapped up her own Las Vegas residency at Resorts World Theater on April 12, 2025, after a staggering over three-year run. Fan reviewers on Vegas.com gave the residency 4.6 out of 5 stars. Many reviewers highlighed the truly stunning production value of each concert and Underwood’s voice. As People shared, Underwood bid a heartfelt goodbye to the sin city during the finale performance, telling the audience: “We are extremely blessed to be able to be on this stage.”
