From being put in a headlock by a former wrestler to falling flat on his face while chasing a wheel of cheese, Ryan Seacrest has found himself in all kinds of unique predicaments since he started hosting Wheel of Fortune — and his latest feat showed off an “impressive” level of physical fitness.
In a video shared to Instagram on this week, Seacrest took part in a plank challenge with WoF contestant Becky, a fitness instructor.
“Becky, our fitness instructor contestant tonight, has challenged me to a plank off,” Seacrest said in the beginning of the clip, as he and Becky knelt on matching mats.
While Vanna White stood by with a stopwatch, Seacrest and Becky got into position.
“Watch your form!” Becky warned.
“Yes, ma’am,” Seacrest quipped.
As the time ticked by, Becky gave Seacrest more instructions, telling him to squeeze his glutes and raise his hips. After about 30 seconds, Becky suggested they move into side planks — but Seacrest took the “easy” way out, leaning on one elbow.
“It’s very slippery in the boots,” he said in his defense.
“I have shoes on too,” Becky pointed out.
“I’m swaying in the wind,” Seacrest warned as he held the position. “I just hosted a show, or six of them!”
“I’m very impressed, you two, I really am. And I’m glad you’re doing it, not me,” White interjected.
“Be glad you aren’t because it’s not pleasant,” Seacrest joked.
After the two-minute mark, Seacrest and Becky decided to “call it a draw.”
When White asked Seacrest if he was “exhausted,” he answered in the affirmative, adding, “I burnt seven calories.”
Wheel of Fortune fans praised the host for his efforts in the comments.
“Oh, I’d be out! Great job Ryan!😮👏👏” one person raved, with another viewer agreeing, “Ryan is such a good sport ❤️❤️.”
“That was impressive 👏,” declared somebody else.
