SEOUL, April 7 (Yonhap) — Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants has stretched his hitting streak to seven games with his second straight multihit effort.
Batting third, Lee went 2-for-4 with a run scored as the Giants walked off the Seattle Mariners 5-4 at Oracle Park in San Francisco on Sunday (local time). One of the hits was Lee’s major league-leading sixth double of the season.
Lee batted 0-for-2 with two walks on Opening Day on March 27 and has hit safely in every game since then.
For the season, Lee is batting .344/.400/.531 and is leading the Giants with 10 runs scored and three steals.

Lee’s sixth double extended his new career high. He managed four doubles in 37 games last year before having his season come to an abrupt end in May with a shoulder injury.
Lee wasted no time keeping his hit streak going, as he doubled off Seattle starter Bryan Woo in the bottom of the first.
Lee then hit a single in the bottom fourth for his second consecutive games with at least two hits, and third such game overall this year. Lee scored on a three-run homer by Mike Yastrzemski.
Lee flied out in the fifth and struck out in the eighth.
The Mariners scored a run in the top ninth to pull into a 4-4 tie, before pinch hitter Wilmer Flores singled home the winning run with two outs in the bottom ninth.
By winning their seventh straight game, the Giants climbed to the top of the National League West standings at 8-1.
