LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Sunday brings periods of rain and storms to the area.
It doesn’t rain the whole day, but that same front that has been plaguing the Midwest the last few days will finally move into our area and that will be the trigger for the numerous rounds of showers and storms we see.
Again – we get breaks through the day, but you’ll also more than likely see your fair share of showers and storms, too.
As far as severe weather – the threat is higher the farther south, but we could still see a few storms turn rowdy as we head through the afternoon and evening on our Sunday.
Gusty winds would be the main concern.
The flooding threat is low – but we’ll need to watch the areas that get repeated rounds of rain as we could see some isolated flash flooding.
Highs are still warm tomorrow – in the upper 70s to nearing 80 for most – cooler in the mountains.
Monday brings lingering showers and a few storms.
Some of those also may pack a punch, too.
Then the temperatures DROP on Monday night.
Tuesday morning, we wake up to temperatures in the middle 30s rebounding to the middle 50s in the afternoon under sunshine.
A freeze will greet most out the door on Wednesday morning with lows in the 20s! Sunshine for the afternoon and highs in the 50s.
Normal temperatures for Thursday through the weekend with another chance at rain for the end of the week and the start of next weekend.
