Stars of two of the biggest shows on TV were in New Jersey Friday to film upcoming Netflix movie “The Whisper Man.”
Adam Scott of the Apple TV+ series “Severance” and Michelle Monaghan of HBO’s “The White Lotus” filmed in Plainfield.
The actors were seen with the movie’s director, James Ashcroft (“The Rule of Jenny Pen,” “Coming Home in the Dark”), at the Plainfield-Rahway Quaker Meeting House on Watchung Avenue.
Scott, who looked anguished in his scenes, appeared to be holding a shoe box.
“The Whisper Man,” which also stars Robert De Niro, is based on the bestselling 2019 novel by Alex North.

The story, adapted by Chase Palmer and Ben Jacoby, is about a widowed crime writer who turns to his estranged father, a retired police detective, after his young son is abducted. The abduction leads him to a serial killer known as The Whisper Man.
The movie is set to film in New Jersey through June.
Earlier this month, the production put out an open casting call looking for Jersey residents to serve as extras.

Scott, who just turned 52 Thursday, plays Mark Scout in “Severance,” which just finished it second season and is set to return for a third. He also serves as an executive producer on the show.
His film credits include “The Aviator” (2004), “Step Brothers” (2008), “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” (2013) and “Krampus” (2015).

Monaghan, 49, plays actor Jaclyn Lemon in the third season of “The White Lotus,” which is set in Thailand. The show’s season finale airs Sunday.
Monaghan has appeared in films including “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005), ”Gone Baby Gone” (2007), “Mission: Impossible III” (2006), “Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol” (2011), “Mission: Impossible — Fallout” (2018) and “MaXXXine” (2024).
