Many Kentucky and Indiana communities are dealing with flooding after record rainfall last week.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Some school districts in Kentucky and Indiana are closed or under virtual instruction Tuesday after record rainfall brought flooding to their communities.
The largest school district in Kentucky, Jefferson County Public Schools, announced they will continue with a non-traditional instruction day on Tuesday.

In a note sent to parents, the district said flooding remains an issue in Jefferson County with unsafe and inaccessible bus stops due to flooding and road closures.
“While we want to have everyone back in school, we must make decisions based on safety,” a JCPS spokesperson said.

- Hardin County Schools – Virtual Instruction
- The de Paul School – Virtual Instruction
- Christian Academy of Madison – Virtual Instruction
- Madison Consolidated Schools – Virtual Instruction
- Switzerland Co Schools – Closed
- Jefferson Comm/Tech-Carrollton – Virtual Instruction
