Nick Khan certainly has a lot to say about All Elite Wrestling during the week of WWE WrestleMania 41.
WWE President Nick Khan was a recent guest on The Bill Simmons Podcast. When asked about All Elite Wrestling being competition to WWE, Khan said that WWE is always the underdog, and he wants people to continue to bet against them.
“We’re always the underdog at WWE,” Nick Khan said. “We always feel that people underestimate us, that we’re looked down upon. And we like it that way. Like bet against us. We prefer that and allow us to show you what we can do.”
If that wasn’t ridiculous enough, when asked about utilizing their performers while keeping others off television, Khan said, unlike the competition, they won’t sign and bench talent. Khan said if WWE has signed someone to the company, they want to use them.
“That’s something we won’t do,” Nick Khan said. “We don’t sign and bench people. We sign people who we want to use. If another entity signs and benches people now, that’s not something we would do.”
When asked about wrestlers moving back and forth between WWE and AEW, Khan believes that plenty of the competition’s top talents will be jumping to WWE when their deals with AEW expire.
“In terms of the other wrestling promotional company, they have a lot of talented wrestlers and we’re happy about that,” Nick Khan said. “When, contractually, they are available to talk to and have conversations with, assume a number of them will come over. Nothing but respect to the father who finances it and owns the Jaguars and all those other things.” [H/T: Daily DDT]
